On 20 March, Bloemfontein will play host to the inaugural Smart Procurement World and Enterprise & Supplier Development (ESD) Expo. Organised by Smart Procurement in collaboration with the Free State Department of Economic Small Business, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (DESTEA), the exhibition will see over 75 black owned SMMEs showcasing their products to a captive audience of public and private sector decision makers.
“Smart Procurement is pleased to partner with Free State DESTEA in bringing this long-standing successful business linkage event to the province. It is important that we continue to drive the collaboration of corporate and government, as well as business support organisations, in engaging meaningfully with local small businesses to meet procurement needs and provide market access,” says Debbie Tagg, COO for Commerce Edge.
Tagg says that the expo, which is being held at PACOF’s facilities, will provide the exhibitors with a prime opportunity to interact with the complete supply chain. In addition, exhibitors will be able to expand their knowledge by participating in free-to-attend Knowledge Hub sessions which are presented by various industry captains. These sessions cover various business-enhancement topics such as ‘Access to finance’, ‘How to do business with corporates and government’, and ‘Leveraging digital media to boost sales’.
“We encourage local SMMEs to secure stand space as soon as possible as we currently have only 15 stands still available. This is a premier networking platform second to none with regards to SMME procurement development opportunities,” says Tagg.
