Molefe-Isaac Fani

Acting Chief Procurement Officer, National Treasury of South Africa

Molefe-Isaac Fani started his career as a Chemical Engineer at organizations such as Sasol Chemical Industries (SASOL) in Sasolburg, BHP-Billiton in Richardsbay, and then Eskom at various locations. At Eskom he was promoted to various positions, and was then moved to Grootvlei Power station when Eskom took a decision to bring back the mothballed power stations. He took the opportunity and became the Commercial manager and was responsible for procurement and warehousing. The move resulted in him having to look at different processes and business models in the Supply Chain and Construction to ensure smooth return to service of the station. His fascination with SCM, business processes and business enhancements was further sparked by working for CSIR, Gauteng Provincial Treasury, Central Energy Fund (CEF) and now the National Treasury. He is currently the Acting Chief Procurement Officer at National Treasury. He qualified as an engineer and has a degree of Master of Commerce (MCom) in Business Management and is a candidate for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) specializing in Management of Technology and Innovation.
