Morongoa Mphahlele is an Assistant Director: Supplier Development at the Gauteng Provincial Treasury, with over 20 years of experience in the public sector. She is an experienced public management professional specializing in supplier development, stakeholder engagement, procurement support, and economic empowerment initiatives.<\/p>
In her current role, Morongoa is responsible for implementing and monitoring the Township Economic Revitalisation (TER) Strategy, with a focus on identifying and supporting township-based suppliers. She provides client support to SMMEs, BEE companies, government departments, and business partners, including supplier verification for Request for Proposal (RFP) processes, Central Supplier Database (CSD) registration support, stakeholder outreach programmes, and compliance with quality management requirements. She also facilitates training and development initiatives aimed at strengthening township enterprises and promoting sustainable economic growth.<\/p>
Morongoa holds a Bachelor of Public Management, a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Management, and a Higher Certificate in Public Management from Regenesys Business School, as well as a Certificate in Public Procurement and Supply Management from UNISA.<\/p>
Throughout her career, she has contributed to several government and community development initiatives, including the Ntirhisano Gauteng Service Delivery Programme, Nasi iSpani Mass Recruitment Programme, Tswa Daar! Anti-Substance Abuse Programme, and the Township Economic Revitalisation Programme. Through these initiatives, she has assisted entrepreneurs and youth by facilitating business registration, supporting CSD registration, providing tendering guidance, and promoting economic participation.<\/p>
Morongoa is committed to innovation and continuous improvement. She developed a control form to improve the management of tender-related documentation, enabling the tracking of document receipt dates, handover dates to project managers, and the compilation of BEE reports. This tool has enhanced accountability, record-keeping, and document control processes within her area of responsibility. Most recently, while acting as Deputy Director, she participated in the 2026 Gauteng Imbizo Programme, contributing to community engagement, service delivery support, and business empowerment initiatives across Gauteng.<\/p>
She is passionate about public service excellence, supplier development, youth empowerment, and economic transformation, and remains committed to supporting the growth of small businesses and strengthening local economies through sustainable development initiatives.<\/p>
