Deputy Mayor Myeni was born and bred in uMlazi township in eThekwini, south of Durban.
After completing her Matric, she pursued Bachelor of Education studies at the University of Zululand.
As a passionate and dedicated community worker and leader, she has served in various leadership roles.
From 2003-2004, she served as the Student Representative Council Deputy President at the University of Zululand.
She has also led the South African Democratic Student Movement (SADESMO).
She actively participated in the first KwaZulu-Natal Youth Council.
Furthermore, Deputy Mayor Myeni is the former Secretary-General for the Uniting Reformed Church of Southern Africa (URCSA) Christian Movement.
She is also the URCSA church council member.
Besides being an educator by profession, she is also the former eThekwini Regional Secretary and site steward for the South African Democratic Teachers Union (SADTU)
Currently, she is the NFP KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Secretary.
In April 2023, she was elected as Deputy Mayor of eThekwini Metropolitan City.
