Tom Raftery is a sustainability and technology executive, analyst, and influential podcast host focused on the intersection of climate, energy, and digital transformation. He hosts the weekly Climate Confident and Resilient Supply Chain podcasts, where he interviews global business leaders, policymakers, and innovators on what it really takes to decarbonise industry and build resilient systems at scale.
Tom is a former Global Vice President at SAP, where he worked with customers, partners, and internal teams on future-focused strategies spanning sustainability, energy, and emerging technologies. He is a regular international keynote speaker, a guest lecturer at Instituto Internacional San Telmo, and a board advisor to multiple startups working on climate and supply-chain solutions.
Before SAP, Tom spent over a decade as an independent industry analyst and futurist, specialising in IoT, energy, and cleantech. He also served as a futurist with Gerd Leonhard’s Futures Agency and led the sustainability practice at analyst firm RedMonk for more than seven years.
Earlier in his career, Tom co-founded several technology ventures, including an Irish software development company, a social media consultancy, and Cork Internet eXchange, one of Ireland’s most energy-efficient data centres. He has been working professionally with technology and digital platforms since the early 1990s.
