Cobus serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Witzenberg Municipality where he drives the institution’s financial strategy, ensuring strict adherence to the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA).
With over 35 years of experience in public sector finance, Cobus has established a reputation for ethical governance and fiscal discipline.
Since joining the municipality in 2013, he has successfully led the Budget and Treasury Office to achieve 13 consecutive clean audit outcomes. His strategic focus includes optimizing revenue enhancement and overseeing a transparent Supply Chain Management (SCM) system.
He holds a BCom degree from University of Port Elizabeth and has completed the National Treasury’s Municipal Finance Management Programme (CPMD), certifying his/her/their competency in local government leadership.
