Mark is a public financial management (PFM) and capacity building expert and is currently the Team Leader of the Organisational and Individual Capacity Development for Public Procurement project aimed at strengthening the SCM function in eight municipalities in the Eastern Cape and Mpumalanga. The project is implemented by GOPA Worldwide Consultants contributing to the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) Governance Support Programme (GSP II).
Mark started his career as an accountant and internal auditor in the manufacturing and financial services sectors. Mark has spent the past 17 years managing the development and delivery of public financial management (PFM) capacity development programmes aimed at improving the capability and performance of the state. Mark’s experience has extended from policy and strategy development to programme implementation with a focus on effective change leadership.
Mark holds a Master of Business Administration, Master of Project Management, Post Graduate Diploma in Higher Education and Training, and National Higher Diploma in Internal Auditing.
