Balekile Ngalo

Director, Strategic Procurement, National Treasury

Ms. Balekile Ngalo is an accomplished Supply Chain Management (SCM) professional with a Master of Business Leadership (MBL) degree. She has 15 years of experience in the public sector SCM environment and currently occupying the role of Director Strategic Procurement in the Office of the Chief Procurement Officer in the National Treasury of South Africa. She is an affiliate member of the Charted Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS). 

She has extensive knowledge in SCM regulations, strategic procurement, and transversal contracting. Expertise and record in developing sourcing strategies for South African Government institutions across health, transport, security, and education sectors. She is committed to enhancing value for money through project management principles, standardizing commodity specifications and fostering collaboration between suppliers and buyers. She actively engages stakeholders by leading cross-functional sourcing teams towards achieving strategic objectives. Recently spearheaded the revision and the current roll out of the 2024 Strategic Procurement Framework (SPF) for the South African public sector. A purposeful professional who is enthusiastic about mentoring, personal and professional growth through reading and self-improvement.
