Minkie Motsai is a seasoned South African professional with over two decades of experience in procurement, supply chain management, and engineering. A multicultural leader with global experience across multiple geographies leading very diverse teams. Fluent in several South African languages, Minkie has demonstrated expertise in leveraging technology to drive results, contract management, customer relations, product development, project planning, financial analysis, and strategic planning.
Minkie holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s in Industrial Engineering from the University of Witswatersrand, along with a CIPS Advanced Diploma and several other certifications.
Professionally, Minkie has held significant roles in various multinationals, mainly in FMCG, Petrochem, Mining and Manufacturing. Notably, he served as the Global Procurement Director at Natura & Co, Chief Procurement Officer at Tiger Brands and most recently Mondi South Africa Procurement Director. A people centred leader with a passion for driving results and a purpose led contributor to positive company results. He has been integral to creating and overseeing several successful strategic roadmaps development and execution with excellent executive management for a range of portfolios. At Tiger Brands, Minkie was the Chief Procurement Officer and Operations Director, delivering substantial results, leading digital transformation initiatives, and turning around a critical operations business portfolio.
Minkie’s tenure at De Beers and SAB further showcases their capability in commodity management and financial analysis. As a part-time lecturer at Wits University, they extend their knowledge to the next generation of professionals.
Beyond his professional life, Minkie is involved in the development of future supply chain industry leaders as a part time lecturer and moderator.
