Mapitsi Talana is a seasoned procurement and strategic sourcing professional with close to two decades of experience across both the public and private sectors.
She spent six years in public sector procurement before joining Vodacom in 2012, where she has built extensive experience across a broad range of categories including Technology, Marketing, Content, FinTech, Retail, Cloud, Hosting and Cybersecurity.
Her experience spans strategic sourcing, complex commercial negotiations, supplier and stakeholder management, category strategy and procurement transformation. Mapitsi is particularly passionate about positioning procurement as a strategic business partner — moving beyond traditional cost savings to create value through data, innovation, strong supplier partnerships and commercially informed decision-making.
She currently operates within Vodacom Business, with a focus on Cloud, Hosting and Cybersecurity procurement, supporting complex technology requirements and strategic business priorities.
Mapitsi is also furthering her business and leadership capabilities through postgraduate studies at GIBS. She is passionate about the future of procurement, particularly its evolving role in balancing commercial value, transformation, sustainability, innovation and long-term business growth.
