Keith Anderson is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of the EPR Waste Association of South Africa (eWASA), established in 2006 to professionalise and advance responsible e-waste management in South Africa. He is widely recognised as a pioneer in the country’s transition toward structured Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and circular economy practices.

With senior executive experience spanning banking, petrochemical, information technology, professional services, and consulting, Keith brings extensive expertise in environmental management, regulatory frameworks, waste management systems, industry restructuring, and sustainable development strategy.

He drafted South Africa’s first Industry Waste Management Plan (IWMP) for e-waste in 2010, laying foundational groundwork for the implementation of EPR regulations. Keith has played an influential role in shaping policy dialogue between industry and government and continues to advocate for stronger compliance, data integrity, and sector formalisation.

A former President of the Information Technology Association of South Africa (ITA), he has also served on the Board of the ISETT SETA and chaired various Remuneration, Finance, and Investment Committees. He was a Founding Member of Qhubeka, supporting socio-economic development initiatives across South Africa.

Keith is a sought-after public speaker who regularly presents locally and internationally on e-waste management, regulatory compliance, and the circular economy. He recently launched the Africa WEEE Forum, aimed at harmonising e-waste standards across the continent.

He was named an ICT Personality of the Year finalist in 2012 and received the ICT Social Responsibility Award in 2016.

Above all, Keith is regarded as a visionary industry leader whose work continues to shape South Africa’s environmental policy landscape and drive the continent toward a more sustainable and accountable circular economy.
