Nicol Lind is Practice Lead for Gender & Job Quality Advisory within SLR Consulting’s Sustainable Finance team, with over 20 years’ experience across transformation, diversity and inclusion, gender equality, labour and human rights, job quality and responsible business.
Her career has included extensive work within the South African transformation context, including B-BBEE, employment equity, skills development and broader approaches to creating more inclusive workplaces and economic participation. This provides an important foundation for her work today with investors, development finance institutions, fund managers and companies across Africa and other emerging markets.
Nicol’s work increasingly looks at transformation through a broader international and African lens — considering not only regulatory compliance, but how businesses can use their employment, procurement and supply-chain practices to expand economic participation. This includes gender and 2X alignment, women’s economic empowerment, diversity and inclusion, decent work and job quality, and addressing barriers that may prevent women and other underrepresented groups from participating meaningfully in economic opportunities.
She brings a practical perspective on how organisations can move beyond compliance-driven approaches to transformation and supplier diversity, while recognising that inclusion must remain commercially viable and contribute to sustainable business performance.
