Willie Mathebula is currently working for the National Treasury of the Republic of South Africa as a chief director in the Office of the Chief Procurement Officer. He is responsible for development of the public procurement regulatory framework and related policies to promote uniformity, standardisation, integrity and transparency in the public procurement and supply chain management system for all spheres of government
He joined National Treasury in 2002 and prior to that he had worked for South African Airways, Transnet, BHB Billiton, Sasol mining. He has more than 36 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management. He is a Unisa graduate and attended other executive programs at Harvard University, Kennedy School of Government. He is currently serving on the Board of SITA as a non-executive director, representing the National Treasury.
