Morwesi Ramphenyane is a seasoned Telecoms leader whose career spans more than two decades at the forefront of South Africa’s evolving digital landscape. Currently serving as Group Executive: Group Procurement & Contract Management at Telkom SA, she spearheads the design and execution of procurement and contract strategies that align seamlessly with the Group’s strategic pillars. Her role not only ensures operational excellence but also positions Telkom to deliver long-term value and sustainability in a competitive sector.

Morwesi’s leadership journey within Telkom reflects both breadth and depth of expertise across multiple domains. As Chief Administrative Officer for Openserve, she oversaw Procurement, Human Resources, and Legal functions, strengthening the division’s operational backbone. Before that, she excelled as Chief Regional Officer for KwaZulu-Natal, the Free State, and the Northern Cape, where she enhanced network efficiencies and connectivity—tangible contributions that improved service delivery and expanded access to reliable communication infrastructure in under-connected regions.

Her earlier role as Head of Network Procurement showcased her ability to negotiate with strategic partners on complex packet optical transport networks, securing agreements that bolstered Telkom’s technical capacity and positioned it for future growth.

Morwesi holds an MBA from the University of Pretoria, a qualification that has sharpened her strategic and leadership acumen.
