Ofentse Konaite is a Specialist: Strategic Support in the Office of the Group Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) at Transnet, South Africa’s state-owned freight logistics group. In this role, she supports strategic alignment across the CPO’s office, working closely with Operating Division CPOs and internal governance structures to drive the execution of Transnet’s procurement strategy. Her responsibilities span monitoring and reporting on procurement performance, coordinating submissions to governance bodies such as EXCO and the Board, and managing stakeholder engagement across the organisation’s supply chain management function.
Ofentse joined Transnet in 2024, bringing with her supply chain and legal experience gained at BASF. She began her career there as a graduate trainee in the Order-to-Cash department, where she managed stakeholder engagement and oversaw the non conformance process for quality assurance. She went on to complete her graduate training programme within BASF’s legal department, where she was responsible for contract management and stakeholder engagement, gaining valuable exposure to commercial and legal risk management.
Ofentse holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Law (BCom Law) from the University of Pretoria and is currently pursuing the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) qualification, reflecting her commitment to building deep, cross-functional expertise at the intersection of law, procurement, and supply chain strategy.
