Rishana Sunderlall is the Executive Manager: Strategic Support in the Office of the Group Chief Procurement Officer at Transnet SOC Ltd, South Africa’s state-owned freight logistics group. She plays a pivotal role in advancing strategic supply chain management, governance excellence, and procurement transformation across the Transnet Group.
With 19 years of experience in procurement governance, compliance, audit management, policy development, and stakeholder engagement, Rishana has been instrumental in driving initiatives that strengthen transparency, accountability, and value creation within complex public-sector procurement environments. Her expertise spans strategic sourcing, regulatory compliance, supplier development, risk management and the implementation of governance frameworks aligned with national legislation and best practice.
Throughout her career, she has worked closely with executive leadership, oversight bodies, and Operating Divisions to enhance procurement performance, improve audit outcomes, and support sustainable business growth. She is particularly passionate about modernising procurement processes while maintaining strong governance, risk management and ethical standards.
Rishana holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of KwaZulu Natal and is currently pursuing an Advanced Corporate Award with the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS).
